Data Providers – Sports

World Athletics

World Athletics is the international governing body for the sport of athletics. It is headquartered in Monaco. It was founded in 1912 as the International Amateur Athletic Federation by representatives from 17 national athletics federations in Stockholm, Sweden. IAAF’s name changed in 2001 becoming the ‘International Association of Athletics Federations’ to reflect the growth of a professional sporting world which did not exist in 1912 and then again in 2019 to World Athletics. As World Athletics enters its second century of existence, the aim is to further enhance this vibrant sport to offer new and exciting prospects for athletes and spectators alike.

New for 2019

The EDI data providers (DPs) are large corporates that work side-by-side with us to propose exciting big data challenges based on real-life scenarios in their day-to-day running, for our top startups to solve throughout the 8-month programme. In 2018 we began with 15 data providers proposing challenges in the following sectors: Energy & Environment (3), Industry 4.0 (2), Internet & Media (3), Retail (2) and Smart Cities (3).

For this second round of EDI, we are honoured to have 5 more prestigious DPs come on board. The challenges proposed this year by our 20 DPs span the following: Energy & Environment (7), Finance (1), Gaming (1), Internet & Media (4), Retail (3), Smart Cities (1), Sports (2) and Transport & Logistics (2)

We still have a couple of spots open to join the EDI programme as a Data Provider.
Apply now to join this prestigious list of forward-thinking companies that will have their challenges solved by our dynamic startups.
