Internet Media España SL is a specialist digital marketing agency that generates large amounts of qualified search traffic to premium partners. This means we help our clients increase their web traffic, monetize it and generate extra revenue.

JOT is one of the three largest worldwide players in internet traffic brokerage and its main strategy for growing is based on the incubation of new business lines related to traffic generation. As such, JOT can benefit from its excellent knowledge and competitive edge in order to enter the Ad Tech sector.

VLAAMSE RADIO EN TELEVISIEOMROEP

The Flemish Radio and Television Broadcasting Organisation (VRT) is the Flemish public broadcaster in Belgium. Its mission is inform, inspire and unite and thus reinforce Flemish society. To accomplish this, VRT owns 3 TV channels (Eén, Ketnet, Canvas), 5 radio stations (Radio 1, Radio 2, Klara, Studio Brussel and MNM), 1 online video platform and various extra services.

Through open innovation, VRT explores new technologies and applications in a media context. The innovation department works together on European and Flemish funded projects with partners such as startups, universities, broadcasters and media organisations, to connect audiences with the future of media.

From research to validation, VRT Innovation collaborates closely with its (end) users. To ensure innovation is put into practice, the department tests new prototypes on the production floor itself, together with VRT brands. Innovative media solutions for content, experience and workflows are scaled and shared for broader implementation.

Over 25 people are part of the innovation team at VRT. Among others, the interdisciplinary team consists of researchers, developers, data scientists and user experts.

The EDI data providers (DPs) are large corporates that work side-by-side with us to propose exciting big data challenges based on real-life scenarios in their day-to-day running, for our top startups to solve throughout the 8-month programme. In 2018 we began with 15 data providers proposing challenges in the following sectors: Energy & Environment (3), Industry 4.0 (2), Internet & Media (3), Retail (2) and Smart Cities (3).

For this second round of EDI, we are honoured to have 5 more prestigious DPs come on board. The challenges proposed this year by our 20 DPs span the following: Energy & Environment (7), Finance (1), Gaming (1), Internet & Media (4), Retail (3), Smart Cities (1), Sports (2) and Transport & Logistics (2)
