Description
Starting from real and open data, the goal is to generate a simulation to assess how would perform a distributed agent-based public bus fleet.
This simulation will be a first step on mobility as a service public bus transformation.
Data
The challenge has the following sample datasets available for download
Expected outcomes
Building of geovisualization tools and key performance indicators of an agent-based system, to allow the evaluation of how the performance in different situations would be.
Aspects of concern:
- Geographic information system basement.
- Bus physical limitations: Speed, capacity.
- Demand variations.
- Environment (traffic, season…).
- Service level vs fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
- Limited number of available buses.
The tools will give knowledge of how many buses would be enough to give a service like current, and what would happen if the fleet decreases in number.
